Overall, the Family Law Group, and Kaila in particular, met my expectations. They're compassionate, they understand what you're going through, and they know what they're talking about.
Before working with the Family Law Group, I had experience with about three or four other lawyers. They were pretty good, but after researching, I found that the Family Law Group was a better fit for my case. I was looking to protect my daughter and to be treated more like a person than a wallet. I initially found the firm through Google, and their reviews gave me a sense that I would be in good hands. Kaila, my assigned lawyer, was exceptional from the start.
I contacted the firm and had an informal conversation, but very much to the point. They put me in touch with Kaila incredibly soon, in less than a couple of days. My first impression of Kaila was really positive; she's well-spoken and knows her way around family law. Our first consultation was enlightening. I got a good foundation in family law, and Kaila was upfront about what was legally possible. She wasn't afraid to correct me if my expectations were off the mark.
The retainer agreement was clearly explained, and after signing the contract, I felt a sense of relief. Throughout my experience with the firm, the communication was quite good. If I sent an email late at night, I'd receive a reply within an hour of the office opening the next day. The support staff were also responsive and kept me updated on the progress of my case.
When it comes to Kaila's professionalism, I felt confident in her abilities right away. She was adept at rewording and shaping our legal communications. She's not just knowledgeable; she's also compassionate and understood where I was coming from. As for the support staff, my interactions were mainly about setting up meetings, but they were always efficient.
The entire process took over a year and a half, but I don't blame the firm for that; it was more of a back-and-forth situation. Financially, the case was a burden, especially in these trying times, but mentally, Kaila's support made a significant difference. I had to make some sacrifices from a legal standpoint, but Kaila and her team did their best within the confines of the law. I didn't have to go to court, which was a positive outcome.
