When I first found myself needing legal assistance due to separating from my ex-spouse, I was nervous and stressed about losing my house and full custody of my daughter. I searched for "lawyers in the London area" and came across the Family Law Group. The location was on the outskirts, which was helpful, and their website seemed reassuring.
I initially reached out to the firm a couple of years ago for a consultation but later called back to move forward with my case. The firm seemed confident that they could handle everything. My first contact was over the phone with my lawyer due to COVID, but I met her in person to sign the papers. She seemed nice, sounded confident, and was approachable. During our first consultation, she asked for all the case details and told me how much the retainer would be. She went over what to expect, so I wasn't really surprised at anything along the way. They also explained the retainer agreement process, and it was really easy with an e-transfer.
Throughout my experience with them, I felt confident and reassured. Though I was frustrated at the time it was taking, it wasn't their fault, and they were trying their best. Everything was really easy and actually easier since most of it was done over phone calls and emails. They handled most of the work, and my lawyer was able to put my mind at ease. The support staff, like her paralegal, Jaclin, was also helpful. Their communication was really good, usually a response within a day or so, and if they were out of the office, I would get a notification.
We are now legally separated, and they sent me the paperwork to file the divorce, and it sounds like it will be resolved shortly. This outcome means a lot to me; it would have been a nightmare if I had tried to do it on my own, especially during COVID. They were worth it and really helpful for me. I would recommend them because they weren't as expensive as you would think, helpful and polite, and they put things in simple terms you would understand. They were all professional yet casual, and she talked to me like I was a peer and not like she was better than me.
Looking back, I probably would have done it sooner. I waited until I was separated for four years to move forward, but other than that, the Family Law Group made the process smooth, stress-free and provided me with the legal support I needed to move forward with my life.
