I'm grateful I had the law firm I did. They maintained my sanity through this whole thing.
We settled. We've got everything settled now. We're just waiting for the stamp from the courts. We only flexed a little bit with a couple of things, but otherwise, it's exactly what I wanted, so that's a win.

To be honest with you, if I still had the counsel that I had before, this would still be going on, and I would be elbow-deep in debt and looking at having to sell my house to pay for a lawyer who was doing a whole lot of nothing, where I never had those worries with Kaila. I knew what she was doing, and I knew what I was paying for. I was getting what I was paying for.
I'm a single parent and lawyers are not cheap. But mentally, she kept me sane. She kept me grounded through it all. And you know what? At the end of the day, the money doesn't matter. What mattered was we got this taken care of for the best interest of my child.
You get what you pay for as far as lawyers are concerned, and you're not going wrong if you take the Family Law Group on. I've dealt with lawyers in the past, and I will never deal with another lawyer for family matters if it doesn't come from the Family Law Group.
I've spoken very highly of Kaila and her firm, and I'm not one of those people who generally refers people to people unless I know 100% that it's worth it and they're going to do right by whatever it is your needs are. And I've already referred quite a few people to Kaila's firm.
Most recently, within the last couple of weeks, it's a friend of mine because she messaged me, and she was just like, "Hey, what lawyer did you use? I'm tired of this runaround with the lawyer that I currently have here in town. They're burning through all my money," blah, blah, blah. And I said, "Give Kaila a call. At the end of the day, you want somebody to get it done. She's going to get it done for you." So she went and had her initial consultation two weeks ago now, and she messaged me as soon as her appointment was done with Kaila, and she was like, "Oh, my God, thank you so much for sending me there. This is great."
I have a giant weight lifted off my shoulders. I have no concerns that my son's father is going to try to pull a fast one and keep our son when he shouldn't. I have peace.
