She went above and beyond. My daughter was protected a hundred percent.
Because of COVID, I've actually only met Kaila one time in person. On the phone, I had no concerns whatsoever. I felt like she was very attentive to me. I felt like she was very knowledgeable, very strong, and willing to fight for what I wanted and protect my daughter.
My initial consultation. To be honest, it only got stronger as the case went on. Kaila—I don't know how else to explain it— she's badass. She is confident. She is not afraid to get her hands dirty. She is willing to go to bat for you. I tell my friends and family my ex got screwed by taking me back to court. Kaila went for everything for me. Yeah, she's a very good lawyer.
There were a couple of things where Kaila would say to me, "What are your thoughts on this?" and then I would answer back, and she would say, "Okay, these are my thoughts on it, but I will do what you want me to do." and she would put things in perspective because sometimes my anger of how he was treating my daughter would get the best of me and I wanted to go for the juggler, and then Kaila would, for lack of better terms, talk me off the ledge and say, "Okay, I get where you're coming from, but let's look at it this way." 100%, I always felt like she was on my side, but she also checked me when I needed to be checked.
There were some pretty inappropriate things happening with my daughter, and Kaila immediately had a bunch of therapists' names for me to put her into counselling and therapy. She went above and beyond. I knew my daughter needed to talk to somebody, but I wouldn't have even known where to start because who puts their six-year-old in counselling? You just don't ever think about having to do that stuff. But Kaila had my back. My daughter was protected a hundred percent throughout this whole entire process.
