They streamlined everything; I was always informed and never left in the dark.
As soon as she got all of the paperwork completed, she'd immediately send it to me for my review, and I'd review everything and say, "Yes or no, this needs to change." And everything was very timely. Changes were made quickly, usually within the same day or that same week. I would have an updated copy of whatever for my review. She's like, Let me know if this is OK, and then I'd say yes, and everything would be done.
She explained everything to me, why I needed to do what they were asking me to do. And then she basically led everything. She was just like, "OK, so now we have a to be spoken to on this date. I'm going to appear for you. This is what's going to happen." And continued that way. We never ended up going to a trial or anything we were able to settle outside of going to a trial.
She'd walk me through, we'd put a settlement to them, and then they would come back at us with whatever, and she'd call me. We'd always have a lengthy telephone conversation about what they had put in it. What she thinks is appropriate. What she thinks isn't appropriate. How do I feel about it? What I like to change. And then she would advise me, based on whatever the conversation was, whether I think you're right, no, we're not going to budge on this anymore, or I think we need to flex this way, and this is why.
I always felt she was guiding me in the right direction, as opposed to a previous counsel who I felt was just trying to line their pockets with more money and going a whole lot of nowhere.
