Professionalism
This could go the other way very quickly. You need to understand that this may not go the way you want it to go.

I always approach things based on the right thing. I know legal precedence states a lot, but I really truly believe, in the way I raise my daughter and the decisions I've made... So even with the action we took, they repeatedly said, "Mr. (\_\_\_\_) everything we're doing is legal, and it's right. But you have to realize that this could go the other way very quickly. "Because of how the situation could be spun. You are taking the moral high ground in a legal situation." They were like, "You're paying a lot of money here. We want you to realize that this may not go the way you think it's going to go. Everything we're doing is proper, and we wouldn't submit it if anything was out of place whatsoever." But they were so repeatedly clear, "You need to understand that this may not go the way you want it to go." it was so the opposite of being a yes man or a yes person or yes firm. They were so absolutely clear and honest. And everything did go the right way, and everything turned out amazingly. Everything was great.
There was one point when I was actually going to pull it all back. Just because I was getting such the run around on something that was pre-agreed upon. Courthouses were closed anyway. We were in the initial lockdown. Everything was just crazy. I had reached such a level of frustration that I was like, "When things open back up, I'll call you guys back. Keep whatever retainer I have. I'll call you whenever." And they were like, "No, no, no. Let us reach out this time. Let me draft an email for you. I'll run it by you. Let me do this, and let me address her. Let us contact her. Don't pull back just yet." She just drafted an email and sent it off. That was the final thing that actually pushed things through. Got things signed. Was able to get things pushed through literally on day one of things opening.
They could not have been more clear. And they were the only one of four firms that even brought that up. And repeatedly. So that was invaluable. Again, because nothing we did was colouring outside the lines. In fact, there were a couple of things that I wanted to state where they were like, "Nope, if you want to put that, we're not going to submit that. We are not going to legally do that. That's just how you want it to sound." And that was quickly dismissed. It was like, "Okay, no problem, just getting a little bit too personal." They were very clear about it. But again, worked things the perfect way that this couldn't have come out better.
