First Impressions
Brenda Barr, she is a shark. She is somebody who demands your attention. It's all good because I would never want to go to court with somebody other than Brenda. Ever. She was absolutely perfect.
Very accommodating. Right from the moment I stepped in there the first time, they offered water, muffins, or anything to make us feel comfortable. They put us in a board room by ourselves. We waited for someone to come meet us, and we didn't wait very long. It was a private conversation. Everything was just so professional. It was perfect.
Brenda Barr is a shark. I don't even know what to say about her. I still get intimidated when I talk to her sometimes because of her stature. She is somebody who demands your attention. She told us right out of the gate, "There's going to be no lies. There's going to be no fabricating stories. I cannot represent you if any of that goes on. I'm here to get the job done. You're hiring me." "You're paying me." "You want me to do the best I can, so give me the best from you." From that, I gained a ton of respect for her right out of the gate because I knew that she was the person that was going to get it done.
What stood out the most was her professionalism. She didn't tell us anything untrue. She told us there was a two-month window where there was no communication between her and me because my therapist told me just to give her some time. "Let her calm down." And I listened to my therapist. Maybe I shouldn't have.
And Brenda said, "That's the only part of this case where a judge is going to call us on it." And he's going to say, "Why didn't you reach out? Why didn't you keep looking for her or try to communicate?"
Brenda, she's not afraid to tell you what you did wrong. That was a big part of why I decided to hire her in the end. I knew that if somebody was going to tell me exactly how it was going to go, she was going to be the person to do it. And I need that. That's the type of person I am. I need somebody to tell me what I need to do or what I'm doing wrong. That was a deciding factor, for sure.
