Money would have been the first thing that I would have worried about.
Client: I literally just put in Google "family lawyer." I think because they have family in their name, that's why they came up. My ex had done the same thing. He had typed in family lawyers, and the same one came up, and he called them. But I had gotten to them first, so they weren't able to work with him. Their office is located right down the street from his work. He thought it probably would have been convenient, too. I was already their client. They weren't able to take him on a conflict of interest.
Interviewer: Do you remember which websites you used?
Client: I just went to Google. And then from Google, whatever their website was, I just went to that one. It was good because I
Client: was able to go through the lawyer bios on the site. You don't get to pick who your lawyer is, but you can still go on the site and look them up and see that they're on there. So I like that.
Interviewer: Did you read their Google reviews?
Client: At this point, I just need the lawyer. I don't normally read a lot of reviews.
Interviewer: What did you find was most challenging for you?
Client: I didn't really know a lot about lawyers anyway, so I wouldn't have a clue what they would be doing. Money would have been the first thing that I would have worried about or thought about. I've never gone through any sort of process that included a lawyer for a long time period.
