I wish I'd gone to a good lawyer right from the beginning, but I was trying to save money.
The biggest surprise was the settlement itself. It depends on what you're asking about, really. The surprise is how much you have to interact with your lawyers and how costly it is.
I would hire Brenda Barr immediately. There was a lawyer that someone recommended to go to, and I found out how much she was, and I decided not to go to her. And then, by the time I decided I wanted her, she was retiring, and she wasn't taking any more clients. When I talked to her, she's like, girl, you need Brenda Barr. So she came highly recommended in that respect. Oh, yeah, I wish I could help you, but she said, I'm ready to retire, and I got to finish the cases I already have; go to Brenda.
