Consultation
I felt very sure when I left that I needed to hire her. I knew immediately. I wasn't going to shop around, and I wasn't going anywhere else.

Everybody in there is all about family law. The environment is quite pleasant. You go in, it's a nice office, and I felt very comfortable going there. Once I got to know them, I understood how competent they were. Before that, they were just pleasant and very comforting.
They have a sense that you're going through a hard time. So their smile and their tone are a little soft without being condescending or patronizing. When I say a soft landing, that's how I feel.
She focused on,
"This is what I would do to minimize your costs and court exposure."
That's the way she talked to me, and I loved it. I mean, I wasn't excited. It wasn't like chit-chatting with my girlfriend, but I loved it. I was like,
"You're focused on the right things."
"I'll go cry with my sister at home later."
"But, you seem to be focused where I need you to be."
I found that she directed the conversation, which is what I needed. Because I was so scattered in my head, she kept refocusing us on exactly what the issues were.
I felt that she was businesslike, no-nonsense, and clear. She was to the point, and she told me exactly what she thought. I needed that, and it was such a breath of fresh air.
The fit was really good and not because I felt that we'd be best friends after. I felt the fit was really good because I needed somebody to focus on the things that she was focused on. My head logically was always there. Emotionally there was too much going on for me to be stable through our whole experience. The fit was there because she was not emotional. She was not focused on how he hurt my feelings and didn't let my kids back in the house. She was focused on the law aspect of all of that. That's what I needed.
She was able to pull out of me exactly what she needed to know to understand the situation. I was really hoping that she would take my case. I felt very sure when I left that I needed to hire her. I knew immediately. I wasn't going to shop around, and I wasn't going anywhere else. I just needed to get my money together as fast as possible.
