I felt she got me and got what I wanted to do and got that I cared for my child and wanted to get the best outcome possible for my child.
They say, "Hello." right away. Then they say,
"We have this office ready for you."
"Do you want coffee, tea, or water?"
Very welcoming,
"Come right in, and what can I do for you?"
Any day I've been in there, there's never any like, "Oh, I'm busy right now." Or "Who are you?" It's always very welcoming.
She was prompt. With my previous lawyer, I'd make an appointment, and I'd still end up waiting for 30, 40 minutes. So it was nice, we made our appointment, and there she was. She came in on time, so you feel respected.
Immediately she seemed to come in knowing what she was doing. The more she talked, the more I felt at ease, and I was really hoping she would take on the case.
I explained our situation. I told her what stage we were at, and she asked me,
"What do you hope to accomplish?"
I said,
"We were rewriting the separation agreement."
"I'd like to finish that."
"I don't want to spend a lot more money too."
"Because I've already blown through a lot of money for almost nothing."
She was again very honest, saying,
"We can get this done."
"I think there's time to get it done."
Really working with us to make it acceptable to us, knowing that we're kind of in a precarious situation.
She's very nice and understanding but also lays out the facts. There is no mystery. You leave knowing exactly what's there, and you have a decision to make. I just felt we clicked because I know she can't get personally involved, but she did have some empathy for me and my situation. She also stayed professional because a legal process had to be followed.
