I needed to make it a little bit more real or official.

It was regarding my daughter's child support. She's 21 and in school, living on her own. Winding to an end, and I felt I was being taken advantage of at the end. Actually, I never even needed a lawyer until the very end, my daughter being 21. My ex-wife and I, as much as we didn't agree, other than our initial separation agreement, we never needed a lawyer between us the entire time we were separated. So it really drove things to a point for me to need a lawyer in the end. But that was the first time in the entire process.

The reason we never needed a lawyer was because no one really tried to shirk their responsibilities. My ex-wife always having main custody. I never had an issue with any of my responsibilities. Time, financial, or otherwise. So when it came to the end, where it seemed like perhaps I was more of a paycheck than support, I felt that I was being taken advantage of in that respect. When it wasn't about my daughter anymore, then it became something of a legal stance where it wasn't about our arguments between us. It was I needed to make it a little bit more real or official.
