I don't remember having a lot of conversations about the actual retainer fee. They probably told me, and at the time, I just didn't really digest it. But I will say it was definitely a much higher retainer than I have had to pay in the past. Some of the lawyers I had retained in the past didn't have a retainer at all. Hi, sorry, my cell phone cut out, but the landline worked. Sorry, we were talking about the retainer. Did you hear me when I said I hadn't paid a retainer at previous law firms? Okay, so I hadn't had that before. So, that piece was new to me. And the retainer that they request is $4,000, and it has to be maintained at $4,000 at all times.

If they're working on the case, they draw from that $4,000. Instead of sending you bills all the time, they draw from the $4,000. And I don't actually know how frequently it is. Maybe it's once a month or once every 60 days. I don't know. They send you an updated invoice that says your retainer is now below X amount of dollars. You need to bring it back up to $4,000.
