We were just basically trying to figure out what kind of an offer we should make. We had given one offer. Theirs was ridiculous.

We were just basically trying to figure out what kind of an offer we should make. We had given one offer. Theirs was ridiculous. How could we go about getting them to realize they're being ridiculous? So then we went back to them and gave it another try, but then it wasn't going to work. So we decided then to retain Dan.
Dan was really informative in that 1 hour. He told us what we are entitled to and what we're not entitled to. Even though he paid for her education, it didn't really matter. We could ask for it, but it wasn't something that they owned together. So he was very good about saying, "Yeah, you could use it as part of your case, but you're not really entitled to that." But he said the two cars are in [Client]'s name alone. He's absolutely entitled to both cars. So it gave us a little bit more confidence that we were saying the right thing.
