It was focused, and that's why I felt confident. I felt like we were going to accomplish something.

I felt very confident speaking with Brenda. I felt a lot better after talking with her as well. I felt like, "Okay, we're going to actually accomplish something here. I'm not going to be running around in a circle for another year or two and not really be that much further." I felt like things were going to get accomplished. I do remember having that impression. I felt like I was going to get something accomplished coming to the Family Law Group.
She was getting me to do most of the talking. But guarding the conversation so that she could find out different aspects of what needed to be done. Finding out what I already have accomplished so that I can bring it to the firm. So, instead of starting at square one, we maybe would be able to start at square three. Letting me know who would be in contact with me. She seemed very confident. I felt that she knew what she was doing. That she's well-experienced in tricky situations when it comes to family law.
It might have been a day or two later, and then I retained them. I don't think it was very long. It might've been literally my drive back. But it was quite shortly after. I was definitely decided at some point in the meeting. It was probably before the end of the meeting that I decided. I was feeling confident in what I was being presented with.
I think it was a really good experience. I felt like I was very well-informed. I had a very clear idea of what was expected of me and what was to be expected from the firm. Everything from what I needed to bring in and what the fee schedule was. In regards to an administrative point of view, there was nothing lacking.
From a personal point of view, it was very straightforward. I remember being stressed, not about being in the meeting, but about my situation. I didn't feel that the meeting pulled me into misdirection and wasting time getting too emotional. It kept the focus. It kept moving forward.
It wasn't like I went to a meeting and I was overwhelmed. It was focused, and that's why I felt confident. I felt like we were going to accomplish something. I'd already been through a lot, and I'd already tried to get somewhere. And even with just the initial meeting, I felt that we were going to get somewhere.
To get a general idea of how things are and the direction that things can go. To get a bird's eye view at the very beginning, I would recommend going to the Family Law Group because it gives you that initial perspective. I didn't feel like I was being led around or not being told anything. You can go to certain meetings, and you feel like, "Well, I feel like I've come out with very little knowledge, very little insight." It doesn't feel like a waste of time. It's very effective.
