What was your first impression of Brenda Barr?
Knowledgeable. Very caring but intimidating. And that's someone who I was looking for.
I wanted someone who actually listened to my story and understood what I was going through. But someone that I knew was going to be able to grab the attention of the judge, somebody who basically knew their stuff and would be able to get me the things that I knew I needed to get. And she was just confident.
What did you guys cover in your initial consultation? What can somebody expect?
I just remember starting from the beginning, laying everything out on current events and everything leading up to that point. She documented everything, which was good because the other guy I went with didn't document anything. He didn't ask me questions, and he didn't ask me for my background history.
So it was good to see the depth that Brenda's office went. They asked me questions and the background of my relationship with the kids' mother—a very, very detailed outline of everything.
