I felt like he wasn't going to budge. I was fully dependent financially on my husband.

My ex-husband left me unexpectedly. He threw out some terms about custody and what he felt he was deserving in terms of a settlement. That's why I immediately called a lawyer, as I just didn't know what my rights were as a parent and what I was about to lose. So that's why I was sourcing a lawyer, and why I chose to continue to pursue the legal route was because I felt like he wasn't going to budge. Basically, he said that we would let the court decide how things would pan out, and I wasn't about to take some threats, and that was the direction I went with.

I was really scared. I was fully dependent financially on my husband. I didn't know how I was going to start or where I needed to begin. I didn't know how much the bills cost. I didn't know how much the mortgage cost. I didn't know anything. I needed guidance. I needed direction. I needed to know what I was going to be left with. So I was really scared.
